China and ceramic keepsakes are familiar and dear to all of us but sometimes they break: your grandmother’s teacup, a wedding plate, your child’s first dish.
Rakefet will carefully transform the pieces of your memory, together with your story, into a beautiful mosaic that you and your family will treasure.
How to get started:
1. Step one
Submit your story and an image through our commissions form (the button below).
2. Step Two
We will contact you for a 30 to 60 minute discussion about your project and the memories and stories that will build it.
3. Step Three
You ship your pieces to us.
4. Step Four
Rakefet lovingly creates your custom mosaic. The piece must cure for 2 to 3 weeks.
5. Step Five
We carefully package your art and ship it to you (local pickup or drop off of artwork available).
Your healing process
Even when downsizing, getting rid of objects that represent an event, experience or a relationship in our past can be difficult. Cherished objects can sometimes trigger sadness or arouse traumatic memories and yet we find we can’t let them go. Rakefet facilitates that gentle and necessary letting go, by creating something new and beautiful from the broken pieces of the old. The resulting art-piece becomes a metaphor for your healing process.
