It is like chewing glass

In the midst of Covid-19 pandemic I travelled to Vancouver Island. I was quarantined for 14 days. This is what I got up to.

In this piece there are broken elements of several people who are connected to one boy.

My grandmother sewed and knitted for practical reasons.

It was a therapeutic endeavor as I took the broken shards of my early marriage and recreated something of even greater beauty.

A few years ago most of them broke after one wrong move while cleaning a shelf.  I was so broken by it. Now I am recapturing their beauty into a practical tray.
